About us

Two different tastes, one shared cup.

Sosiego was born from two concerns: that in Colombia we drink the coffee we grow, and that we give ourselves time to enjoy it again.

Our story

How it began

We are two people whose tastes didn't seem to have much in common, until we found each other in specialty coffee.

Learning to prepare and enjoy it changed the way we saw a cup. And with that came two questions we couldn't stop asking.

The first question

Why don't we drink the coffee we grow?

Colombia is the world's third-largest coffee producer. Yet the best beans usually travel far away, and many of us grew up with a bitter coffee you had to sweeten to drink.

We wanted to change that, one cup at a time: serve specialty coffee from our mountains, tell where it comes from and teach how to brew it, at the counter and in our workshops.

The second question

When was the last time you sat down without rushing?

The world moves fast. We eat standing up, answer messages mid-conversation, and coffee has become something we gulp on the go.

Sosiego means calm. We created a place for the opposite: to sit without watching the clock, talk unhurried and enjoy a good coffee. The art of taking a pause.

“Coffee brings stories together and creates memories.”

What happens behind the counter

Every cup takes its time. This is how coffee looks before it reaches your table.

Take a calm look.

  • The S of Sosiego, with a cup at its center.
  • A person meditating, one of our tools for finding calm.
  • A Chemex, the first brewing method that made us fall in love with coffee.
  • An infinity sign: a line that never breaks and always comes back to coffee.
